War in the Pacific Quarter 2019

The United States Mint has begun selling the 2019 War in the Pacific quarter. These coins feature designs symbolic of the historic area of Guam and the territory of the United States. Part of the America the Beautiful series, these coins can be found in a variety of sizes. The War in the Pacific quarter is one of six unique products. The coins are struck from 99.9% pure silver and are a little more than two inches in diameter.

The Guam War in the Pacific quarter was released on the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Guam. This coin features a scene from the war when American troops landed in the small island of Guam. The coin features an Amtrac Amphibious Vehicle, as well as a determined American army. There is a very poignant scene of the LVT-2 Amtrac Amphibious Vehicle on the coin.

The War in the Pacific National Historical Park was established in 1978 and covers an area of over two thousand acres. The park honors the Pacific Theater of World War II and includes several sites on Guam. The park includes former battlefields, gun emplacements, trenches, and historic structures. There is also a park that honors the men and women who served in the Pacific Theater. It is free from modern technology, but remains an important reminder of the conflict and sacrifices of its participants.

America the Beautiful has chosen the third site of the 2019 War in the Pacific National Historical Park as the 48th site overall. This is a great honor for our nation and its military, and it also helps preserve the amazing resources of Guam and the surrounding waters. In addition to the gold version, there are five new proof sets of the War in the Pacific National Historical Park Quarter. The silver coins are worth approximately $5 to $10 depending on their grade. The effigy on the obverse shows George Washington. John Flanagan designed the portrait. George Washington has been featured on U.S. quarters since 1932. The gold-plated versions of the War in the Pacific National Historical Park Quarter have been shown on late-night television.

The five America the Beautiful Coins issued this year include the 2019-W War in the Pacific National Historical Park Quarter. But these coins are limited-edition and will quickly lose their luster and grade if they enter the general circulation. While the 2019-W War in the Pacific National Historical Park quarter is a limited-edition issue, it is the first in the series to bear the “W” mint mark. There are also some speculative issues and rare examples to choose from.
