Her first job was a legal assistant for a Boston law firm. She then served as a law clerk for the general trial division of the state’s attorney’s office in Baltimore.

During her time as a law clerk, she was involved in numerous investigations. She also served on the boards of several companies. She is a member of the National Association for Black Law Enforcement Officers and the American Bar Association.

She earned her Juris Doctor from Boston College School of Law. Her parents were also law enforcement officers.

As a result, she was charged with mortgage fraud and perjury. She is currently awaiting her trial.

According to the indictment, Mosby falsely certified that she experienced financial hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic in order to make early withdrawals from her retirement account. She then used the money to buy two Florida vacation homes.

The indictment also alleges that she defrauded her mortgage lenders by concealing her intent for the two houses to secure a lower interest rate and by failing to disclose federal tax liabilities on her mortgage applications. She spent $80,000 on down payments for the houses and then flipped the second house for $151,000, which prosecutors say was a gross profit.

Nevertheless, the indictment is too short to provide any clarity. The IG and the feds are already investigating Mosby and her husband for other matters, so we’re unlikely to ever understand what happened here unless other charges come forward.

She was a rising star in the Democratic Party when she was sworn in as the state’s attorney in 2015. The indictment has prompted calls for her resignation and even for her to be charged with federal crimes.
